Anna Kolesnikova

After a long pause continue to write about young and talented fashion designers.

And here is Anna Kolesnikova.
She is just amazing! I do not know another person who can make a photo with Giorgio Armani simply walking in the street… Maybe it is a kind of a sign?...

She started sewing for her Barbey when she was 8. Anna created a full wardrobe for her doll and even participated in a number of competitions and presentations which were so popular at that time. In 3 years she began to make clothes for herself.
Anna also tried to work with clothes for men, but she is more inspirited by strong women, confidentially going forward. Thats why her current collections oriented to ladies.
She studies at Milano Politecnico and makes plans for the future. What kind of plans? Well, if Anna had an opportunity, she would definitely launch her own brand. Its idea and business plan are already developed, the only thin which is lack for its realization now is money.

It was interesting to ask Anna living in Milan about differences between fashion in Italy and Russia. She said the following:”There are two different clothes senses - Italian and Russian. Italian fashion can be characterized by monochromaticism, calm colours, abundance of brown, black, indigo. It is mostly classic or casual. Most popular materials are cotton, leather, wool. The Italians know how to combine separate garments and create a complete and elegant look.
The difference between these two styles is that the Russians more like bright colours, prints, decorations and details which originates from there Oriental traditions. And it is not surprise because we are both East Europe and Asia and our mentality is a mixture of European and oriental features. Russian ladies are more courageous in terms of showing their individual style and create their look more emotionally”.

Ok, hope, soon I will go there and see!

PETROVSKAYA (N)

Nadezhda Petrovskaya - PETROVSKAYA (N). She looks very serious and a little bit shy, thinking about something very important...

Nadya can find inspiration in everything and especially in music. She said that she listened to KINO records when worked on her diploma collection. It was called The Wars of Change. Then there was some decadance music and Irreversibility Collection.

Now she prefers romantic themes and sews some blew jersey dress with black decoration... Mmm... it looked quite interesting when I saw it.

Nadya says that she likes to create evening and wedding dresses. She started her career of designer in the creative laboratory of Tapaza Pella Fashion House where she worked exactly in this field.

Well, good luck PETROVSKAYA (N)!

Maria Manuilova - MANka

Photo: A.Komarov

Maria is a young fashion designer living in St.Petersburg. Like many other people of her age she is fond of music and modern art. To the question what kind of music she likes she smiles and calls Rammstein, Leningrad and Marilyn Manson. It is really not so common choice for a girl, but this is she and that's it.

She shares her studio with three other girls and hopes that sometime in the future she creates her own fashion house.
Several  years ago Maria graduated from the St.Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy, named after Alexander von Stieglitz which is informally known as the Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design. During her study there she had ideas to choose the way of designer for some mass market brand, but meeting Tatiana Parfionova changed her decision.

Maria participated in Russian Silhouette competiton for young designers with Indigo Children Collection and after the event was invited for the position of stylist in the TATIANA PARFIONOVA Fashion House. Eight months there influenced her quite seriously and encouraged to try her own business.

Now she has her brand MANka. It is clothes for strong, serious, decisive people, who know what they want, do not like to change their mind too often and keep their individual style.Creating new items Maria likes to combine different materials and looks for there new performance.
